Growing in Faith & Love,  The Role of the Law

DO YAHWEH’S WILL – KNOW THE COMMANDMENTS

John 7:17-19
Elder: Otto Miesel

“If any man will do His will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of Yahweh, or whether I speak of myself.” John 7:17.

There was a great division among the Jews as to who Yahshua really was, and the authority of the truth He taught. They wanted some sign as clear proof that He was really from Yahweh above. But Yahshua’s answer tells them that the proof depended on the state of their heart!

Therefore, a man who wants the evidence of Yahshua’s mission, while he is not ready to do Yahweh’s will, seeks for it in vain. A man whose will is set on doing Yahweh’s will, as far as he knows it, is in the proper state for receiving further illumination.

Yahshua, the Anointed One, says: “If any man will do His will, he shall know of the doctrine whether it be of Yahweh.” John 7:17. He speaks of two things: The will of Yahweh we are to do, and the teachings about Yahweh, we are to know. He tells us that the second one is entirely dependent upon the first. As we will do, we will be able to know. This is the contrast and the connection between precept and promise. Be ready, be determined to do Yahweh’s will and you will have light as to all that Yahshua has taught. The commandments are simple and easily understood. He who honestly seeks to do them in the fear of Yahweh, will learn to know the mystery of Yahshua. A will, a disposition set on doing Yahweh’s will, is the only way to know Yahweh’s truth, His will and His commandments. Knowing and doing Yahweh’s will is where the anointing from above will be given in joy to the beholder.

If you want to read the commandments of the Most High, your Creator, let me refer you to Exodus 20. There are “ten” given and “ten” are to be upheld! Please do not mix up the Sabbath with sun-day! Yahweh set apart the seventh day and that cannot be sun-day! Genesis 2:2, 3. You may really have to learn to read and understand the Eternal word and the Eternal commandments. You should not regard man’s word above Yahweh’s word. Too often man’s interpretation contradicts Yahweh’s statutes. From Yahweh’s perspective this is adultery! Read Ezekiel 20:30.

Yahweh’s promises for His people – when abiding in His laws are many fold!

Yahshua abided in the Father’s will and with it He fulfilled the law. Matthew 5:17.

To do Yahweh’s will was in Yahshua’s mind. Yahshua, fulfilling it means, He broke not one of the ten. Fulfilled means the law is not done away, but that He was without sin! To “do and know,” Yahweh’s law means to uphold the first to the tenth! Whoever breaks one, has broken all of them! Deut. 27:26.

Let us try to take hold of the lesson we need to learn. With an open mind and willing heart to accept what the Scriptures will say to all of us. Will you grow in your faith, and will you do His commands? You must keep Yahweh’s day, “set apart (holy)” from all other days. That is and always will be the “Sabbath day,” and not sun-day!

Yahshua teaches us that in the growth of a believer’s life there must be discipline and obedience to the Almighty Yahweh’s word and law! Have faith and trust in your Creator and Father at the utmost! It must be our utmost desire to do Yahweh’s will and to please the Father in all our duties!

Just as in conversion, there can be no faith without repentance. Throughout life, faith without repentance cannot grow nor can inherit the promise given to those who abide in Him!

The great reason why so many pray for an increase of faith and never get it is that, they will not do His will! The will rules the life and is the index of the heart! The whole man is to be judged by the will – unless there is a fixed resolve – a seeking with the whole heart and will to do the will of Yahweh, there can be no growth in faith, and no knowledge of Yahweh’s truth to which it gives access. It is only Yahweh’s will as truly and fully taken up into our willing and doing that Yahweh can reveal Himself to us. “Yahweh judges our conduct by our will!”

II Cor. 8:12: “For if the willingness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what he does not have.”

A believer, as in Romans 7, may be able to say that he delights in the law of Yahweh after the inward man, and yet has to see his terrible failure because he excluded the fourth commandment to do and to know. Exodus 20:8.

The righteousness of the law is fulfilled in those who walk after the Spirit. In such are Yahweh’s commandments put in their hearts and will be written on their minds! Hebrews 10:16. In such believers dwells the mighty Spirit of Yahweh. Such people doing and knowing the commandments of the Most High.

They know the Sabbath is ordained to be “set aside,” from all other days of the week. They know exactly that “sun-day,” is made and installed by man! Because Yahshua was not resurrected on sun-day. He walked out of that grave on the Sabbath day at evening!! John 20:1, “Early on the first day of the week (which begins after sunset on the Sabbath day) while it was still dark….” Yahshua’s words are not meant for those who are content with the idea that they will not do the will of Yahweh. But believers who walk after the Spirit, in them Yahweh will work both, “to will and to do.” It is the heart where the will of Yahweh is needed! I cannot too frequently or too earnestly repeat this message. The one object for which our will was given us – its true nobility and blessedness – is that with it we might take Yahweh’s will, and make it our very own! I must regard it as the one thing Yahweh asks from me “to do and to know.” Remember the Sabbath day to keep it “set apart (holy)!” Exodus 20:8.

It must be our utmost desire to do Yahweh’s will and to please the Father in all our duties! The one thing you can do to please Him and become a partaker of His blessedness day by day is to accept and keep His Sabbath day. Worship Yahweh on this special day to do His blessed will and then do it with all your heart and all your mind. Willing to do the will of Yahweh is the sure way to all growth in spiritual knowledge and experience. Actually doing all that is within the realm and reach of everyone’s spiritual stature and the willingness of the heart to do and to please the Most High, Yahweh! It should be a delight for everyone to know the Sabbath day is the only sanctified [set apart] day, of our Creator and Father, for every believer! “You have purified yourselves by obeying the truth so that you have sincere love for your brothers, love one another deeply from the heart.” I Peter 1:22.

The will of Yahweh is such a vitality that it becomes life and strength to the heart. But believer, it must be done not merely as a matter of duty or training, it must be done because Yahweh wills it that you and I uplift His commandments by our will and heart! The spiritual knowledge of Yahweh, His presence in you, His power and love, will overcome any doubt in you. The Sabbath belongs to whoever is obedient to His eternal word.

“If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him!” John 14:23. Here is the way to a strong and joyful spiritual life. Decide to do the will of Yahweh. It will unite you to Him and it will draw Him to you. With all your will and strength obey Yahweh your Creator! Make this the chief exercise of your spiritual life! You must come to the conclusion to obey Yahweh more than man! Man is dust. Yahweh is everlasting. Yahweh is waiting for you to worship Him on His day. He ordained it for all mankind. You are included.

What a shame, man made His day into a working day. A day for business! What an evil thing it is! What a sin! How will you react? Will you repent of this wrong behavior? Yahshua came to do the Father’s will. Will you come to do the same? May this question be with you until you can say with a repentant and joyful heart: “Thank you, Yahweh, for revealing to me the truth.”

Let us now rejoice with the redeemed ones in the freedom we found through the cleansing power of the blood of our Savior Yahshua. Praise Yahweh, we are forgiven. Know we are blessed.
